Job Summary

To ensure the quality of incoming raw materials, bought-out parts, and supplier components by conducting inspection and verification activities in line with organizational and customer quality standards, thereby preventing defective materials from entering the production process.

Key Responsibilities

Incoming Material Quality Control

  • Perform inspection of incoming raw materials, bought-out parts, and supplier components.
  • Verify materials against drawings, specifications, Control Plans, and quality standards.
  • Conduct dimensional, visual, and functional inspection activities.
  • Ensure proper segregation and identification of accepted, rejected, and hold materials.
  • Prevent non-conforming materials from entering production.

Supplier Quality Coordination

  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality and Purchase teams for supplier quality issues.
  • Raise supplier rejection reports and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance related to incoming defects and PPM.
  • Support supplier development and improvement activities.

Inspection & Documentation

  • Review supplier documents such as COA, PPAP, material test certificates, and inspection reports.
  • Maintain incoming inspection records, rejection reports, and quality documentation.
  • Ensure traceability and documentation compliance as per IATF requirements.
  • Support calibration and verification of measuring instruments.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze recurring incoming defects and support root cause analysis.
  • Participate in corrective and preventive action implementation.
  • Support initiatives to reduce incoming rejection and supplier defects.
  • Drive continuous improvement in receiving quality processes.

Audit & Compliance

  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and supplier audits.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Maintain 5S and safety standards in inspection areas.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Drawing reading and GD&T interpretation
  • Incoming inspection techniques
  • SPC and basic quality tools
  • Knowledge of PPAP, Control Plan, and Process FMEA
  • Understanding of MSA and IATF 16949 requirements
  • Knowledge of machining, casting, forging, or assembly components
  • Hands-on experience with measuring instruments such as:
    • Vernier Caliper
    • Micrometer
    • Height Gauge
    • Bore Gauge
    • Dial Gauge
    • Surface Roughness Tester (preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum 3 to 15 years of experience in Receiving Quality / Incoming Quality Inspection.
  • Candidates must have experience in the Auto Component Manufacturing Industry.
  • Experience in handling machining, casting, forging, sheet metal, or assembly components preferred.

Qualification

  • BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Automobile / Production Engineering.
