Job Summary

To manage day-to-day stores operations including material receipt, storage, inventory control, and material issuance while ensuring inventory accuracy, proper material handling, traceability, and uninterrupted support to production activities.

Key Responsibilities

Stores Operations

  • Manage receipt, storage, and issuance of materials as per organizational procedures.
  • Ensure proper identification, storage, preservation, and traceability of materials.
  • Maintain proper binning and material location systems.
  • Ensure timely material availability for production requirements.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate stock records and inventory transactions in ERP/manual systems.
  • Monitor stock levels and avoid shortages or excess inventory.
  • Implement FIFO practices for material movement and storage.
  • Conduct periodic stock verification and cycle counting activities.
  • Identify and control slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete materials.

Material Receipt & Issuance

  • Verify incoming materials against purchase documents and delivery challans.
  • Coordinate with Quality team for incoming material clearance.
  • Ensure proper documentation for inward and outward material movement.
  • Maintain records related to stock movement, shortages, and rejections.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Update ERP entries for GRN, material issue, stock transfer, and inventory adjustments.
  • Prepare stock and inventory reports for management review.
  • Support internal and external audits related to stores activities.
  • Ensure adherence to 5S, safety, and material handling standards in stores area.

Coordination

  • Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Quality, and Planning teams for smooth material flow.
  • Support production schedules through effective inventory management.
  • Supervise store assistants/operators and ensure discipline in stores operations.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Inventory and stock management
  • ERP systems and inventory transactions
  • FIFO methodology
  • Material storage and handling practices
  • Knowledge of inward and outward documentation
  • MS Excel and reporting skills
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing stores operations

Experience & Qualification

Experience

  • Minimum 4 to 10 years of experience in Stores operations.
  • Candidates must have experience in the Auto Component Manufacturing Industry.
  • Experience in handling raw materials, bought-out parts, consumables, and production-related inventory preferred.

Qualification

  • Any Degree / Diploma preferably in Mechanical, Production, Materials Management, or Supply Chain.
